The Beacon Historical Society is at a turning point in its own history. In the twenty years that the Society has maintained office space at the Howland Cultural Center, the historic collection has mushroomed. This location is no longer sufficient to accommodate all the artifacts and historic materials acquired and being donated almost daily.
A brief search began several years ago to find a suitable building which would serve not only to contain all of the society collection, but also serve to become a museum... The Beacon Historic Museum.

Packed to the Rafters !!!! A few samplings of items currently on display in our humble room at the Howland Center. Many other items are put away in varioius storage facilities--just waiting for a museum !
With over 100 years of the City of Beacon's history, the prior years of the region's history, and the consistently increasing collection, the vision for establishing a museum looms prominently in the plans for the future of the BHS. This vision is what we ask of the City in recognizing the advantage and relevancy in supporting this addition to Beacon's growing attraction for residents and visitors alike.
