Do you have great memories of growing up in Beacon? And/or, would you enjoy hearing why so many people who did have such a strong sense of community? Join us on October 22 at 7 p.m. for our second annual “Growing up in Beacon” panel discussion. Five Beaconites will share their memories about life in our small city in a free-flowing conversation. It is fun, free and features plenty of easy, safe parking; all are welcome!
This photo captured Walt Dearnaley and daughter Carol outside the shop of Max Bernstein on Main Street. During World War II, Max regularly took photos of just about every serviceman or servicewoman who happened to walk past — just one example of why we all share such great memories of growing up in Beacon!
And as always, we thank B.P.O.E. #1493, celebrating its centennial this year, for warmly welcoming us into its beautiful lodge for our monthly meetings.
