May Meeting: Join us for a sure-to-be entertaining presentation by Director of Special Projects Diane Lapis, titled “Greetings from Beacon!” Diane is an experienced postcard collector who will explore the history of the postcard using examples from our community. In particular, she will discuss the cards produced by both Harry Van Tine of Beacon and Jacob Ruben of Newburgh, two prolific and talented photographers who memorialized many local scenes through their creative work. We gather May 28 at 7 p.m. at the Elks Club at 900 Wolcott Avenue. Even more great news! We’ll have postcards available for sale, with proceeds benefiting our Society, as our June 1 Postcard Show has regrettably been canceled.
